Seeking papers for the following panel being developed for the Society for
Cinema Studies Conference, March 9-12, 2000 in Chicago.
Call for Papers
THE SERIAL IMAGE: ISSUES IN FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY
This panel will examine the historical and cultural exchange between film
and photography. Exploring various intersections of their shared cultural
history, some specific topics might include: pre-cinema, gender and
representation, national cinema, the avant-garde, commodification, and
seriality. The panel welcomes papers which address these issues from an
aesthetic, theoretical or historiographic perspective. Please contact
