I've read in some sources that this film is lost, while other sources confuse it with the 1920 prequel, _The Golem: How He Came Into the World_, which is the classic version available on VHS and DVD from many companies. Phil Hardy's _Science Fiction_, which notes that Wegner only starred in this version, and did not direct, has a critical review that suggests it was seen by the contributor who wrote it, though, potentially, it could have been written based on a press kit. Does it survive anywhere? How about the 1917 parody and 1922 sequel?

Scott
