I had some good feedback about my course on multiculturalism, for which
thank you to the list. I now have a question about Star Trek, about which
I'm doing some research. I've been through the usual internet sources
(Yahoo and IMDb) and have been overwhelmed by the amount of information. I
have sifted through a lot but not found what I wanted - an intelligent
critique of the Star Trek series. Instead I've found reviews of particular
films as well as umpteen listings of who did what to whom and when......
I'm afraid I don't have long enough to wait for a book order to arrive from
America, so I would be more than grateful if anyone is able to suggest a
site on the internet where to find a thoughtful overview of the Star Trek
phenomenom and wherein its appeal lies as well as what kind of values it is
promoting.
Thanks for any suggestions
