I have a question for anyone who might know the truth:
A few weeks ago, I saw a brief news item in our local paper that Orson
Welles' daughter was suing to stop the video release of the newly
"restored" version of TOUCH OF EVIL that played in theaters last year.
The article claimed that she said the new version was, contrary to the
distributors' claims, not what her father had intended.
I have seen and heard nothing else about this since, and I cannot find
any other news information on the subject. Given our local paper, I
would not be surprised if it was an error, but I wonder if anyone has
more concrete information.
