Can anyone recommend any good books (biographical, filmographical,
stylistical or otherwise) on Godard? I desperately want Godard on
Godard but the cost is in the $80 range because it is out of print.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this for less? Has anyone
read the recent book by Jean-Luc Douin on Godard? It seems interesting.
Also, is anyone willing to trade Godard videos? I have copies of First
Name: Carmen, Contempt, Weekend, Breathless, Alphaville, and
Masculine-Femenine. I am interested in ANY of the other Godard films
(esp. Pierrot le Fou, A Woman is A Woman).
I have not seen Breathless yet, I want to build up to it by first seeing
the others. The only I have seen are Alphaville, Contempt, and First
Name: Carmen. Of these FN:C is by far my favorite. Has anyone seen
this? It was made in '83 and makes wonderfully innovative use of
sound. I will soon watch Weekend and Masculine-Feminine. I hear these
are great films as well.
Although to date I have been able to view relatively few of his films, I
have read much on the man and his theory and practices. I am interested
in corresponding with anyone who would like to comment on and discuss
any aspect of the man or his films (one and the same?) or anyone who is
just a great fan.
