For detailed information of the variety of techniques involved, try and
find copies of 'the making of' promotional docos for 'BEAUTY & THE
BEAST' esp. the ballroom sequence, 'WHO SHOT ROGER RABBIT', 'THE
    MASK'and 'TERMINATOR 2".

There is also a demo showreel around of early PIXAR animations (the
boffins behind TOY STORY) which feature two lampshades and a rubber
ball - the first longform computer animations (ie longer than a few
    seconds!).

    cheers
