                       DIRECTOR, TV & MEDIA SERVICES
                           New York University
 
Direct the operations of a dynamic, expanding university media
service which includes Campus Cable, Campus Media Services,
Television Production, Teleconferencing and NYU-TV.  Provide
technical consultation services for planning, designing, installing
and utilizing multi-media communication systems, including audio,
video, a/v, computer, satellite, and cable equipment.  Plan, test
and advise on design, installation and use of new technologies.
Oversee purchase & maintenance of TV production, cable, satellite
dish, and audio- visual equipment. Supervise 3 units staffed by 7
administrators, 7 technical staff, 3 clerical staff, and 175
students.  Administer budget exceeding $1.8 million.  TV and
Media Services are a department within the NYU Libraries and the
Director reports to the Associate Dean of Libraries.
 
BS required (MS preferred) in relevant area such as media
technologies or electrical engineering; 4-5 years related technical
experience, including supervision of technical & production staff;
knowledge of state-of-the-art audio, video, computer, multi-media,
networks and other communications systems; experience with developing
and promoting educational technology applications.  Excellent verbal
and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a
complex environment; high tolerance for ambiguity.
