We have in our library what I believe to be the only complete collection
of Kurosawa on laserdisc in the U.S. The catch is that most are in
Japanese without subtitles. We have _Record of a Living Being_ in this
collection. I checked OCLC and other libraries have it on VHS, with
subtitles, but none in Southern California. Stanford has it, but they
don't lend. If you want to borrow our disc, I could probably arrange a
special loan for you. If you want/need subtitles, you may want to try
borrowing on ILL from one of the other holding libraries for the VHS. I
don't have a Facets catalog handy, but they may rent it.
