As I've already posted, the list of panels and call for proposals for the
next Society for Cinema Studies conference (March 1995, New York City) is
now available on SCREEN-L FILELIST. SCS is calling this announcement a
"bulletin board."

I'm going to make this file available for both FTP and dial-up access in
the next day or two. Here's a form-letter summary of the various ways to
nab this file:

Society for Cinema Studies Conference 1995
New York City
Bulletin Board of Proposed Panels

SCS has issued a list of panels and workshops for which individuals are
soliciting papers. That list is now available as a text (ASCII) file
through the following three methods.

1. Anonymous FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

    Connect to seebeck.ua.edu.

This is not a true "anonymous FTP" site, however. Instead of logging in
as "anonymous", you must login as "tcf_net/anonymous" (no quotation marks,
and note the underline in the middle of "tcf_net"). When prompted for a
password, use your e-mail address. Then you may change to the pub
directory and nab the file under the names:

    scsbb.txt (text/ASCII version, 35k)
    scsbb.zip (compressed version, 16k)

2. E-mail

Send an e-mail message to [log in to unmask] In the first line of
your message put the following command:

    GET SCSBB TXT

Please note that there is no period in the filename (as there are
    in MS-DOS filenames).

This file will be sent to you via regular e-mail channels.

3. Dial-up BBS

The PoV BBS provides a variety of film/TV/radio materials, including
the SCS bulletin board under the names:

    scsbb.txt (text/ASCII version, 35k)
    scsbb.zip (compressed version, 16k)

They are available in the film file section. There is no charge
(aside from long distance costs) for using PoV.

Set your communication software to 14,400 bps (maximum), 8 bits, no parity,
one stop bit and dial 205-348-9552 (Tuscaloosa, AL).
