The Conference will feature paper presentations, workshops, keynote
addresses and multimedia exhibitions and performances centered on the media
future. The uniqueness and importance of the Conference is its emphasis on
both technological developments as well as the social and policy
implications of such developments. The Conference thus provides an
opportunity for representatives from a variety of sectors to discuss this
intersection between the new media technologies and their social contexts.

Jonathan Parapak (Secretary General, Indonesian Department of Tourism, Posts &
Telecommunications) delivering an address
centered on the importance of the
Pacific Rim region in the telecommunication
future;
and a special Round Table on Electronic Publishing featuring:
Florian Brody (New Media Consulting, Vienna, Austria)
Paul Brown (Editor, FineArt Forum, Art and
Technology NetNews, Brisbane)
Carl Loeffler (Carnegie Mellon University, USA)
