Nope.  Broken ankle.  Welles was wheelchair-bound for several weeks while
his ankle healed.  He was forced to shoot around his own scenes until the
ankle became better.
 
The book "Citizen Welles" by Frank Brady is a great source for information
on Orson Welles.
