As regards to Helio Godoy's letter. I would also be interested in hearing how
the Master of Fine Arts degree is treated in the US. I have seen several
positions at colleges and universitites advertised, where it seems that an MFA
is about as equal as a PhD if the courses are of a practical nature as well
as theoretical.

I have an MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in Filmmaking and am applying for
a position at a university in Sweden. Normally they require a PhD for this
position, and I am trying to inform them of the validity and qualifications
of an MFA, which they have never heard of. Any information, tips, places for
getting written evaluation etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks!
