The School of Art, Media and American Studies at the University of East Anglia is inviting applications to our PhD programme. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at UEA is a member of CHASE (with Sussex, Kent, Goldsmiths, Essex, The Courtauld and the Open University), a consortium that was recently awarded an AHRC Block Grant Partnership, which provides a series of studentships that are supplemented by other studentships funded by the School and the Faculty.

Applicants applying to work in Film, Television and Media Studies (FTM) at UEA will compete for studentships with applicants to other schools and other members of the consortium. Applicants to FTM have a strong track record of success in winning studentships in open competitions within the faculty. There are also several scholarships ring-fenced for FTM applicants.

For UK students, these awards cover both fees and maintenance and for EU residents awards are on a fees only basis.

If you are interested in applying for a PhD in Film, Television and Media Studies at UEA, please contact the School’s Director of Postgraduate Research Karina Aveyard ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) who will help guide you through the process.

You may also wish to consult our list of staff and their research interests for guidance on possible supervisory expertise: https://www.uea.ac.uk/film-television-media/people

Those interested in MA applications should contact the School's admissions officer, Dr Sarah Monks ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) in the first instance.

The deadline for PhD applications (including all supporting information such as references) is 13 December 2014, so it is important that prospective applicants contact the School as a matter of urgency to start the application process, preferably no later than early November.

More information and details of how to apply can be found at: http://www.uea.ac.uk/study/postgraduate

Alternatively, please contact the UEA Humanities Graduate School: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
