In the first of the Saw films, Adam, one of the men locked in the room, is a
photographer who had been spying on the other man trapped with him. There
are scenes of Adam taking photos and developing them in his dark room.
These are mirrored by crime scene photos that flash up on the screen. All of
the Saw films make extensive use of the sound of a camera in direct and
incidental ways as a kind of sound effect - this sounds of the opening menu
of the first DVD make these sounds as well as you select through the options
as I recall.

In Seven, John Doe disguises himself as a photograph and takes pictures of
the detectives hunting him. In the opening credits you see hands
manipulating camera film. Later, the detectives discover that John Doe has
taken a polaroid of his "sloth" victim every day for a year, charting his
starvation.

In Dahmer, we see Dahmer taking photos before killing his victims.

I believe that the opening of the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
relies heavily on crime scene stills.
