The Department of Visual & Media Arts at Emerson College seeks to fill a tenure-track 
position in media studies. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor.  A Ph.D. 
and college-level teaching experience are required.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory to advanced courses in media studies 
(including lecture survey courses in media history), active research in the candidate's 
area of specialization, and service to the department and the college.  Preference will be 
given to candidates that demonstrate scholarly expertise in one or more of the following 
areas:  animation; European media; Latin American media; media industries; queer 
studies; sound for film and television; television studies, especially with an international 
focus. The appointment begins September 2008.
