re the below message (from an indy film-maker i won't name!) -- if
anyone has any contacts in the studios, perhaps they could attempt to
rescue this historic item? sounds like they might be wanting to chuck
it. it would look good in a university film department, surely?

ben

was at ealing studios today. they replaced the old, famous sign at the
entrance with a new one.

anyway, i got lost and ended up wanding around the back of a building
and i discovered the old ealing studios sign just leaning against a
wall! if i'd had a car, i would have pinched it. anyway, if anyone wants
it, pay a visit in your car and grab the thing. what a bunch of idiots.
