Try the faithless husband in John Sayle's Lianna(1983). There's a great scene
where he explains the relationship between editing and meaning to his class by
editing text on a blackboard. In an allied field, there's the professor of
Communications in the foyer of the New Yorker theatre in Annie Hall.
