Call For Papers
The American West(s) in Cartoons, and Disney Depictions.

Film and History League Conference
The American West(s) in Film, Television and History
November 2002, Kansas City, MO

  Proposals are being sought for individual and panel presentations about cartoon depictions of the West, western characters and western theories.  Cartoon themes can include and are not limited to:
 --Disney characters or films
--Warner Brothers and Looney Toon characters and films
--Vintage cartoons
--Animated characters or films
--Cartoon shorts
--International cartoons or depictions

Please send a 150-300 word proposal to  Dr. Charlene Etkind, 2600 Quail Dr. B, Columbia, Missouri  65202 or e-mail to [log in to unmask]  The Deadline for proposals is 15 August, 2002.


The 2002 meeting of the Film & History Society will be at the Kansas City Margot, Country Club Plaza, next door to the Kansas City Arts Institute. Special events are planned for the meeting.
