For those who helped at various points in the essay, HEIMLICH MANEUVRES, as
well as interested others, it's been published at the PSYART site (PSYART: A
Hyperlink Journal for Psychological Study of the Arts), at

http://www.clas.ufl.edu/ipsa/journal/articles/psyart2001/greenb04.htm

The essay traces the evolution of the cinematic monster from a figure of
terror, to -- variously -- a figure of fun/protector of children/rescuer of
mankind at large.

Thanks again for all who helped a year or so ago with references, et cetera.

Harvey Roy Greenberg, MD
