Action Cinema: Histories and Forms
This panel seeks new historical and formal work on action genres, including
the one-reel melodrama, slapstick, the serial, adventure films, thrillers,
and contemporary action films of Hollywood, India and Hong Kong. Papers
might consider narrative and stylistic issues such as suspense, physical
performance, and plausibility and motivation of spectacular action.

University, Middletown CT 06459.
