The interesting thing is that the evil is made pleasurable and therefore
somewhat acceptable.
A useful example of the point might be the requirement (whether of the Hays
Office or some other agency, I am not sure) that all crime films end with
law and order triumphant. If "evil" were as repellent as it should be, such
a requirement would not have been necessary.
