On Saturday I saw a friend's DVD player in action. It cost £300 and doesn't
recognise macrovision copy protection or regional codes, and so allows
copying to videotape without hindrance. I don't know what make it is but he
found out about it without difficulty through looking at ads in a Home
Cinema magazine -- the ad makes a point of mentioning the disabling of
regional codes and macrovision. He bought it locally (London).
