My experience of locating and getting the correct permission for stills from
the film 'The Piano' involved permission from two production companies and
viewing available stills at distribution companies.
First the relevant companies names were sought from the producer and
permission was quickly given by both the Australian producer and Ciby 2000
in London for their use.
Stills were viewed at Village Roadshow, Buena Vista, and a film archive in
Australia.
This was a less costly method than selecting stills to be copied from the
actual film.
