In addition to the other interesting connections (Hitchcock, Godard,
Antonioni, Ophuls, BLUM IN LOVE) being made in re: EYES WIDE SHUT, it
strikes me as the most self-referential of Kubrick's films.

It features people a man consumed by jealousy (Elisha Cook, Jr. in THE
KILLING), labyrinthine tracking shots (THE SHINING), a "seductive"
nymphette (LOLITA), people in masks (THE KILLING, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE,
BARRY LYNDON), and so on.

Of course, many other elements of the film can be contextualized in
terms of Kubrick's total ouevre.
