I also suggest Sergei Eisenstein's "Film Form." The references to acting
are scattered throughout, but make connections between film and stage
acting as well as suggesting principles for screen acting. I seem to
remember Hugo Munsterberg's "Psychology of the Photoplay" also discusses
film acting in relation to stage acting, but I can't seem to find it to
be sure, and I may be remembering Bela Belazs' text instead.
