I THINK ITS JUST THE NATURE OF THE BEAST WHEN YOU FIND REALLY GOOD ACTORS
MAKING AWFUL FILMS OR GIVING POOR PERFORMANCES. SEEING TOMMY LEE JONES IN
FIREBIRDS, FIENNES IN WUTHERING HGTS(SAVE FOR THE ENDING WHERE I FELT HE
SHOWED PROMISE), OLDMAN IN ROMEO IS BLEEDING, HURT IN A TIME FOR DESTINY
THESE WERE EMBARASSING TO SAY THE LEAST BUT PERHAPS FOR THIS GROUP OF ACTORS
ITS SLOGING AWAY@THEIR CRAFT. ACTORS FROM THE 50'S/60'S WHO WERE THE BEST
SUCH AS MONTGOMERY CLIFT ALSO MADE OR GAVE BLOODY AWFUL PERFORMANCES
AND I THINK ITS SIMPLY DUE TO A VARIETY OF REASONS FROM THE DIRECTOR NOT
KNOWING HOW TO UTILISE HIS TALENT TO IT SIMPLY BEING A QUESTION OF THE
MONEY INVOLVED. I DON'T THINK TO MUCH OF IT BECAUSE OVERALL THESE ACTORS
ARE JUST THAT!ACTORS! NOT CELEBRITIES OR FLAVORS OF THE MONTH OR THOSE EASILY
LABELED AS SUCH. AS TOM STOPPARD'S PLAY WAS ENTITLED"THE REAL THING"
SO TOO ARE THEY!
