As a fan of the "X-Files" from the start, I am finding this season even
better than before, with the 1/13 episode and the 1/6 episode (about
genetic transmission of serial killing propensities) extremely provocative
and quite chilling. I should say that I have NEVER allowed my daughter
(now 9 1/2) to watch the show. Also, since I do not believe at all in UFOs
and alien intelligence (no, I won't make the obvious joke here) I am
untroubled by the seeming shift in the last few shows.
I think the real worth of a show is not what it's about, but the
characters. Certainly that is what distinguished the best shows from the
run-of-the-mill. Muldur and Scully treat each other with personal and
professional respect, perhaps the only show to feature men and women
interacting in this way!
