"Was _Platoon_ a glorification of the Vietnam war?" Not
intentionally, but its climax, a nighttime firefight managed to create
a visceral excitement in many of its viewers that, possibly
unintentionally, became a glorification of war in general. With this,
_Born on the 4th of July_, and _JFK_ as evidence, I have decided that
Stone is basically a hypocrite, or at least phenomenally
muddle-headed.
