Religion in Contemporary American Filmmaking

Call for Papers
Society for Cinema and Media Studies Conference 2005
London, March 31-April 3, 2005

This panel seeks papers analyzing the current renaissance of religious
filmmaking in the United States. Papers dealing with such phenomena as The
Omega Code, The Passion of the Christ, or the Left Behind series are
welcome, as are papers that deal with institutional and social aspects of
current religious filmmaking. Please send 400-word paper proposals, along
with a brief bibliography and 100-word biographical note, to Anne Morey via
