I'm not certain Michael Crichton's 1973 'Westworld' would qualify, but
there's always 'Mad Max' and 'The Road Warrior'.
IMHO, the 'Alien' #1 & #2 also would qualify (the 'bad guy comes to town and
gets everyone but the hero' motif).
