So what's wrong with "Dumb and Dumber"? I didn't see it, but if it makes
people laugh, bravo! We can't all be sitting around in our elbow-patched tweed
jackets, trading witty bon mots with Julie Grossman (that's a joke, ma'am!)
The simple message that appealed to Gump's many fans is "A good heart is more
important than a good mind"; I don't think too many people rushed home from the
theaters determined to take school lunches away from hungry children....
I am certainly no fan of the GOP, but I feel painting them as cartoonish
villains is as anti-intellectual as FG is accused of being. Maybe they are not
anti-government, but anti-centralized bureaucracy and pro-local government.
Are they anti-eduction? Then what about Newt's job as a college lecturer --
and what could be more pro-education that marrying your high school teacher??
