i'm not at all sure how such things are done, but i suspect someone on the
list is: could these special interest list-servs [Screen-L; H-Film; Film &
Philos; etc.] sponsor, say, a quarter page ad on the arts pages of the
NYTimes saying precisely what jessica rosner expained in her e-mail of
this afternoon? . . . i expect that there are enough subscribers, even
enough interested subscribers [and friends] so that a very moderate per
person cost could raise the cash to pay for it . . . lots of other special
interest groups form ad-hoc committess to buy such ads and i don't see why
we couldn't do the same . .

any takers?

mike
