There were a couple of episodes of Hill Street Blues where Belker
went undercover in a wheelchair, I seem to remember some of his
conversations with his disabled mentor being quite hard hitting.
 
Some of the handling of Benny's mental disability in LA Law is
interesting, but they have got lazy in the last few series.
