The Science Fiction and Fantasy Area chairs of the Southwest Popular /
American Culture Association (http://southwestpca.org) invite paper or
panel proposals on any topic related to the CW television series
*Supernatural*.
Join us for the 37th Annual Southwest Popular / American Culture
Association Conference, February 15-18, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency in
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Proposal submission deadline: *November 1, 2016.*
Any and all topics will be considered, although we especially encourage
proposals on:
- Narrative Structure
- Genre conventions
- Fandom/Fan culture
- Representations of socioeconomic class, gender & sexuality, and race &
ethnicity
- Representations of myth, religion, and (urban) legend
- Uses of violence
- Music in the show
- The series’ response to/engagement with metatextuality and/or fandom
Submit 250-word paper or 500 word panel proposals to the 2017 SWPACA
Presenter Database at http://conference2016.southwestpca.org. Choose the
area “Science Fiction & Fantasy – Supernatural (TV series).”
