The Fulbright Scholar Program
invite you
to become one of them
Next year, 1,000 U.S. faculty and professionals will travel to more
than 135 countries around the would to lecture and conduct research.
Every academic rank-from instructor to professor emeritus-is
represented. Untenured faculty and professionals outside academe are
ecouraged to apply.
Fulbright Scholars:
-Pursue individual research or collaborate with foreign colleagues on
projects
-Teach undergraduate or graduate courses
-Conduct seminars for business and community leaders
-Consult with govenment ministries and schools
-Advise on curriculum development
-Lead symposiums for faculty and professionals; and
-Guest lecture at other universities and in other countries
Fulbright awards go to:
-Scholars with international reputations
-Recent Ph.D.s who show great potential as researchers
-Community college faculty who teach at the undergraduate level
-Excellent teachers with modest publishing records
-Academic administrators, and
-Independent scholars, and
-Artists, Lawyers, jounalists, research scientists, and other
professionals
Consider that:
-All disciplines are represented in the program, with offerings in
everything from art to zoology.
-Grant duration is variable-one need not go for the full academic
year. Awards are normally
granted for periods ranging from 2 to 12 months
-Language is not necessarily an obstacle
_Many award offerings allow scholars to propose their own lecturing
or research projects
You are eligible to apply if you:
-Have U.S. citizenship
-Hold the Ph.D.,Appropriate terminal degree in your field, or
equivalent professional status and recognized standing; and
-For lecturing assignments, have suitable college or university
teaching experience
The deadline for application is Aug. 1, 1995
