"Digital Arts & Culture '99", Atlanta, GA, Oct. 28-31, 1999 The Second Annual Digital Arts and Culture Conference (DAC '99) will bring an international field of artists, new media practitioners, scientists, theorists, and members of industry to the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology to explore established and evolving forms of digital culture. More than 100 speakers, performers, and artists, from over a dozen countries, will present their work at the conference. Keynote speakers and performers will include Robert Coover, Elliott Peter Earls, N. Katherine Hayles, and Michael Joyce. The conference program mixes several presentation formats: scholarly papers, live and mediated artistic performances and readings, and gallery installations. Opening and closing receptions and a conference banquet are also scheduled. Many of the events will be delayed-webcast over the Internet, using streaming audio and video technologies. Some events will be webcast live. We anticipate a lively, provocative, and entertaining weekend. We hope to see you there.
