Ajijic, (Ah-he-heek), just 40 minutes from Guadalajara's Miguel Hidalgo International Airport, is a 478 years old fishing village on the north shore of Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake. This village of narrow cobblestone streets has been a haven and refuge for artists and writers from North and South American and Europeans since the 1920's. It is also renowned for its near-perfect climate and the area is known worldwide as "Land of the Eternal Spring."
