Richard Leskosky wonders: > Also, did Victor's explanation at the end remind anyone else of the > psychiatrist's wrap-up at the end of PSYCHO? Yes. It is an "explanation" that opens more questions than it answers--which may be the intent. I have to see the film again, but aside from the many echoes of previous Kubrick films there seemed to be some cross-referencing with Hitchcock, especially NORTH BY NORTHWEST (remember that James Mason first has Grant abducted to a Glen Cove estate). It's a fascinating film that is rather different from many of the advance descriptions--and even some of the reviews! I expect that, like so many Kubrick films, it will be source of heated discussion and argument for years to come.
