OK it would need a bit of imagination, as most European Union politicians are just plain corrupt or incompetent, having gone their in the aftermath of failed careers in their country of origin. But an EU-type organisation would make the ideal SPECTRE for the next millennium (Jacques Santer would be the perfect Blofeld) and the resulting film could have some interesting things to say on current affairs...
