I don't believe anyone's mentioned such mainstream fare
as "Terminator," in which a Polaroid of Linda Hamilton
is a crucial plot point.

And thanks to a high-tech device, the photos in "Blade Runner"
are able to be enhanced greatly, rendering clues to detective
Harrison Ford. Also, the replicant Sean Young has been given
false memory implants, and faked photos to reinforce them.

If you're including documentaries, the list is endless, but
the best is probably the brilliantly narrated "The Civil War"
 by Ken Burns.
