The Film Section of the South Atlantic Modern Language Association invites abstracts for a panel entitled "Film Reception--Audiences and Spectatorship." The SAMLA conference will be held November 4-6, 1999 in Atlanta. Papers should address film reception by focusing on the consumption practices of actual audience groups and/or on the theoretical concept of the implied spectator.
