A good early example is some of the Andy Hardy films. Along this line (and
definitely my favourite early teen film) is Shirley Temple's Miss Annie
Rooney (1942). It was the film where Temple gets her first screen kiss.
Peggy Ryan also stars and talks about records with Temple over the phone
(listening to the records at the same time). Interesting example because
while everybody learns to swing in this film, no one has to sing because
records and professionals (big band) have taken over this function.
