Columbia--where Frances Patterson and Victor Freeburg teach photoplay > courses in the teens; Dana, Glad to see this as an old Columbia alumnus. You may already be familiar with Patterson's book Cinema Craftsmanship (N.Y.: Harcourt, Brace, 1920), which is based on her Columbia lectures in the teens. This is a must when dealing with Patterson. I suspect that the oral history collection at Columbia University might also yield a few nuggets. Don't neglect White's photography courses at Teachers' College at Columbia. Karl Struss and others studied there in the teens.
