CINE Golden Eagle Film & Video Competition Spring Deadlines: Early Bird: March 1 Final: March 15 Fall Deadlines: Early Bird: Audust 1 Final: August 15 CINE is a nonprofit organization that recognizes excellence in documentary, instructional, informational, and short feature films, videos, and interactive productions and facilitates their entry in international film and video festivals. Who should enter? * Professional and non-professional film and video makers. * American producers, sponsors or distributors * Dedicated craftspeople, such as directors, screenwriters, etc. What are the Criteria? CINE entries are judged on creative and technical merit. Criteria include: prsendtation, writing, sound, edting, creativity, visuals & insights, effectvie communication to the intended audience, and fulfillment of stated purpose. CINE juries base recommedations for an award on how well a production measures up to the standards it sets for itself, thereby allowing the "little guy" a chance to stand alongside the "giants" of the industry. How do I enter? * Read the enclosed rules and regulations carefully * Complete the entry form. * Submit entry form to CINE by mail with check * Or fac the entry form with credit card information. * DO NOT SUBMIT a film or video with your entry form. Soon after the deadline, a letter with instructions for shipping your non-returnable 1/2" VHS entry will be sent to you. * Results will be available early June for the March deadline and late November ofr the August deadline Competition Results All entries will be judged in the first stage of a potential 3-stage process. All entrants will be notified by either the end of May or the end of November of the competition results. Awards Each entry considered worthy of representing the U.S. in international festivals receives two free Golden Eagle or CINE Eagle (Pre-Professional and Amateur) certificates in recognition of the honor. Winners are also eligible to purchase Golden and CINE Eagle trophies and other award items. International Festival Participation Golden Eagle and Amateur Eagle winners will be considered by CINE for competition in international festivals. The decision to enter is yours. Should you agree, CINE may ask you to provide extra prints or tapes. Films, tapes and videodiscs are insured by CINE (replacement cost) while in transit and while in the custody of CINE. CINE assumes no responsibility for any damage or loss, or for any infringement of rights, while films/tapes are in the custoday of overseas festivals or authorities. Although a CINE award does not guarantee that your entry is eligible for international competition, if it fits the requirements of one or more festivals you will be notified by the CINE office.
