As a sidebar to Godard's prediction and Peter Lunenfeld's comments:

My day job is a freelance one in the film industry. There was very little
work this December, and one of the reasons was that the major studios were
leary of going into any big productions because they were waiting to see how
Titanic would do at the box office. Christmas, for many of us low-level
folks, was quite lean thanks to Mr. Cameron. Huge productions generally do
not employ a proportionally larger number of people, so all these blockbusters
end up having a damaging effect on many of us.

So, fuck'em.

Love and kisses,

Tom Vick
