But I was also making a larger comment about the decline of this list. Recommending that we buy, find or request your book without summarizing your arguments seems odd in the context of a discussion group like this one. I assume that you maintain some rights to your own writings, and that you have a digital archive of previously published work. You've taken the time to post a response, why not go one step further? Rather than suggesting that we "might want to see" your essay, grab it off your hard drive, excerpt the relevant portions, and send it to SCREEN-L. I don't want to own your book and doubt that I'll make the time to track it down in the library, but I would like to see how, or whether, "The Myth of Independent Film" engages with the issues at hand.
