FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION CHAIR The Department of Communication at Florida Atlantic University seeks an accomplished scholar and leader to serve as Chair of a growing department, with 12 full-time faculty members, more than 400 undergraduate majors, and an expanding masters program. All areas of research and teaching interests in the field will be considered. These include intercultural, interpersonal, and organizational communication, rhetorical, media, and cultural studies, journalism, film studies and video production. Starting date: August 1998, pending funding authorization. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications. Administrative expertise, leadership, and ability to work with faculty from diverse fields required. The Department is one of 11 arts, humanities, and social science departments in the Schmidt College of Arts and Humanities, located on the central Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University. The College serves a diverse and rapidly growing student population with strong undergraduate and masters level degree programs. In addition to its own programs, the Department participates in interdisciplinary programs in Film Studies, Ethnic Studies, Women's Studies and a planned doctoral program in Comparative Studies.
