"Eye of the Storm."  The teacher was a woman, Jane Elliot? i think.  it
wasn't hair color, it was eye color (brown-eyed vs blue-eyed).  it took
place after Martin Luther King, Jr was shot, i believe, but i could be
wrong.
 
there was also an update a few years ago, where the children involved in
that experience are interviewed as adults.  don't remember where i saw
that one, or what it was called.
