My literary encyclopedia says Wyndham Lewis was a "near-fascist." Of course his colleague Ezra Pound was an actual fascist. And I seem to recall reading somewhere that their colleague T.S. Elliot had some distasteful notions... On the other hand, wasn't a preoccupation with machinery a characteristic of much early modernism, including the Soviet avant-garde?
