To add some British war epics to this evergrowing list - THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY (57) - story of only German POW to escape in WWII. THE WOODEN HORSE (50) - yonks better than 'Great Escape'. THE COLDITZ STORY (54) - the most convincing WWII POW film. A TOWN LIKE ALICE (56) - women POW in Malaya WWII. (US Title 'The Rape Of Malaya') I'd also strongly suggest you consider 'THE HILL' (65) - a powerful Sidney Lumet/Sean Connery collaberation. cheers Rob Pemberton ---- To signoff SCREEN-L, e-mail [log in to unmask] and put SIGNOFF SCREEN-L in the message.
